Whether you have become bound by your own, or another’s sinfulness against you, the fact is, —here you are.
Bitterness. Anger. Pain. Despair.
Often, our lives end up in a twisted maze that we can’t make much sense of and we find ourselves in corners or dead ends, from which we see no way out. God must show up.
The Good News is —He does.
He pursues us tirelessly, with His limitless love. His healing love.
He promises to make the crooked paths straight, and to turn the most desperate, hidden and barren places in our lives into beautiful, fruitful fields.
The only requirement is our willingness to give Him the fragments of our lives and allow Him to begin to do His work.

Some people seem to gravitate more naturally toward potential problems and errors. It may be as simple as an eye for precision and detail that notices slight inconsistencies or breaks in pattern. The picture is crooked, the number isn’t exact, or the expectations weren’t fully met. On a beautiful image, their eye naturally focuses on the almost undetectable blemish.
Thought patterns are established easily and unconsciously and negativity is a common thought-rut, especially the more detail oriented we are. So, how can a realist become a contagious optimist?
Are you encouraged? It really depends on one thing…
One of my favorite questions for people is, “Are you encouraged today?” Usually they pause, reflect for a moment on their circumstances and feelings, and respond with an enthusiastic, “Yes!” or a not-so believable, “Yeah.”
